How do I access and complete the Universal Roster Upload template to upload my class rosters?

This article explains how to access and use the Universal Roster Upload Template in CLI Engage. Use it to create or update teachers, students, and classes simultaneously.

Prerequisites

Log in to CLI Engage.
In the Administrative Tools section, confirm that you can see Class & Student Management. If you do not see this option, submit a help ticket.
Use an administrator account assigned to the school or district.

Instructions

  1. Log in to CLI Engage.

  2. Find the turquoise banner labeled Administrative Tools.

  3. Select Class & Student Management.

  4. Select Central Roster Management.

  5. Select Universal Roster.

  6. Select the Universal Roster Template button to download the template.

  7. Open the template. Complete all required fields and make sure each field is in the correct format. Review the Instructions tab, which is the second tab in the template.

  8. Save the completed template.

  9. Return to Central Roster Management, and then select Universal Roster.

  10. In the Community/District field, start typing your community or district name. Then select the correct option from the drop-down list.

  11. Select Choose File, and then select the saved Universal Roster template you want to upload.

  12. Review the invitation setting. By default, CLI Engage sends invitations to the teachers listed in the template and creates their classes. Teachers need these invitations to register their accounts and access CLI Engage.

  13. Select Submit.

  14. Select the Play/Process button.

  15. After the template is processed, confirm that the Status column says Finished.

  16. Check for errors in the Action column. Select the blue speech bubble, also called the log, to view any errors.
