KPM: Can Receptive and Expressive Scores Be Viewed Separately?
Answer
In the Circle Kindergarten Progress Monitoring (KPM) assessment, classroom data reports are organized by measure, not by response type (e.g., receptive vs. expressive). This is because the benchmarks are validated based on the combined score for each measure, which provides a comprehensive view of student performance.
Currently, KPM reports do not separate receptive and expressive responses within the standard classroom reports. However, if you need to view individual task-level data, you can access the Student Results Export. This report provides raw scores for each student on each task within a measure and indicates whether the student is on track, needs support, or should be monitored.
For more details on available reports, visit the Accessing Reports page.
Additionally, the KPM User Guide includes a helpful chart that identifies which measures are receptive and which are expressive. This can be especially useful when planning ability grouping or small group instruction.
