How do I correct the Community Name and Community ID mismatch error on my SRU template?
This article explains how to fix this roster upload error: “Community and Community ID mismatch. The Districts that you typed and selected do not match.”
This error means the district name and district ID in your file do not match.
Prerequisites
Instructions
The district name on the roster template must match the name in CLI Engage.
The Community ID can be either the Community Engage ID or the District Number.
If you are a public school district or charter school, “Community” means “District.” Your Community ID, or District Number, is assigned by your state agency, such as TEA.
If you are a Head Start agency, “Community” means “Head Start Agency.” Your Community ID may be issued by your agency or assigned by CLI Engage.
Depending on your CLI Engage account type, you can find the Community Name and Community ID on the Community Management page.
To open this page, select Class & Student Management under the Administrative Tools banner.
Helpful Tip: You can also contact CLI Engage to request the Community ID or District Number assigned to your community.
If you are new to CLI Engage and your district or community has not been added or is inactive, submit a help ticket. Include the full community or district name, full physical address, and TEA ID. A support team member can add the community or district for you.
Instructions
Log in to CLI Engage.
Check CLI Engage to confirm that the Community ID matches the ID used in CLI Engage.
Find the turquoise banner titled Administrative Tools.
Select Class & Student Management.
Select Community Management.
Your Community Name should automatically appaer
If assigned to multiple communities, search for your specific community
Select the Edit (pencil) button in the Action column.
Find the Community Engage ID on the right side of the Community page. It is the first set of letters and numbers and starts with EDS.
Find the District Number (TEA ID) on the right side of the Community page, next to the District Number field.
Use either the District Number or the Community Engage ID as the Community ID in Column C of the Single Roster template. Use only one of these numbers. Copy and paste the number into the template.
Using the CLI Engage Community Name and ID is recommended to prevent any errors
If you use the District Number (TEA ID) and it starts with a zero, add an apostrophe before the number in the template cell. Then press Enter. Example: '01234567
This adds a small green triangle in the cell. The triangle means the leading zeros are being saved as part of the number.
Confirm that the Community ID is the same all the way down Column C for the Community or District listed on the template.
