How do I Split a Class into Two Classes?

This article explains how to split one class into two separate classes.

Example: You have one class with 3-year-old and 4-year-old students. You want to create one PK3 class and one PK4 class.

Use these steps after the new class is created and students are listed in CLI Engage.

Prerequisites

Create the new class.
Upload or confirm all students are in the system.

Instructions

  1. Log in to CLI Engage.

    • Go to https://cliengage.org and log in.

  2. Go to Class Management.

    • From the Dashboard, scroll down to Administrative Tools.

    • Select Class & Student Management.

    • Select Class Management in the menu bar.

  3. Add the new class

    • Select Add Class.

    • Enter the required information. Check the Class Name and Class Level for accuracy.

    • Select Submit.

  4. Move students to the new class.

    • Select Assign Students next to the new class.

    • Enter the community name, school name, and class name on the left side.

    • Select Submit.

    • Check the box next to each student you want to move.

    • Select the red arrow button to complete the transfer.

    • Select the green Back button.

  5. Remove students from the old class.

    • Select Assign Students for the old class.

    • Check the box next to each student you want to remove.

    • Select the blue arrow button to de-assign the students.

    • Select the green Back button.
