How Do I Access the Texas Kindergarten Entry Assessment (TX KEA) Training in CLI Engage?
All training materials for the Texas Kindergarten Entry Assessment are available in the Online Courses section of CLI Engage. Users need to Enroll in each course and can earn certificates for the completion of each course.
The Texas Kindergarten Entry Assessment (TX-KEA) Training is a series of courses designed to provide an overview of the assessments, guidelines for administration, and reports. There are three courses for teachers, and one course for administrators. These courses include new components for kindergarten progress monitoring, required statewide literacy screener, and dyslexia screening and referral.

To access the TX-KEA Training Courses:
Click on “My Enrolled Courses” from the CLI Engage Dashboard to locate the TX-KEA training materials. Then, click the blue “GO TO FULL COURSE CATALOG” button near the top-right. Scroll down to see the TX-KEA Online Training listed among the CLI Engage online course offerings. Or click here to view the how-to guide for accessing online courses on CLI Engage.
There are three training courses for Teachers:
TX-KEA Overview: A teacher training course that provides an overview of TX-KEA, including the purpose of the screener, descriptions of the domains being assessed, determining the language of administration, and assessing special needs populations.
TX-KEA Administration Guidelines: A teacher training course that provides information on the administration of TX-KEA with students and scoring items. This course includes video demonstrations of TX-KEA administration with kindergarten students.
TX-KEA Reporting Features: A teacher training course that introduces the reporting features on CLI Engage, including how to access, create, and print a variety of reports for teachers and parents.
There is also one course for district administrators:
TX-KEA Overview for Administrators: Provides an overview of TX-KEA for administrators, specialists, and principals, including the purpose of the screener and domains assessed.
