How Do I Use the Family Engagement Survey Tool?
The family engagement survey tool lets administrators collect feedback from families in early learning programs. Administrators generate a unique survey link in Engage by selecting a survey window (start and end dates). They share this link through existing communication channels for families to complete. After the survey window closes, administrators download the raw data as a CSV file and generate a narrative family engagement report summarizing key findings and offering actionable recommendations based on performance.
Step-by-Step Guide:
Log in to CLI Engage & navigate to the “Administrative Tools” on the dashboard.
Under “Community Management” select the action “View” to find the survey tool.
If administrators have multiple communities, they will click “View” for the community they want to create a survey for on the “Community Management” tab.
The family engagement survey configuration is located at the bottom of the community management view.
Set the survey window by selecting a start and end date.
Once the date is set, click “Generate Survey URL” and the unique survey link will appear.
This link will remain available throughout the survey window and can be revised as needed by clicking “Edit Survey Window” – this will not alter the existing survey link.
Once the link is generated, share it with families via existing communication channels.
When families submit the survey, the response count will update.
Recorded responses are only those that parents submit by clicking “submit” on their end.
Response count is not impacted by opened/incomplete surveys that are not submitted.
Data is not affected by submitted surveys with missing items/responses.
Families will not be able to access the survey after the window closes.
When the survey window closes, the URL will disappear.
When closed, users will be able to select the survey and download the raw data. A CSV file will automatically download. The CSV file includes raw data from the survey.
They will also be able to generate a narrative report by clicking “Generate PDF Summary”. This will take between 3-5 minutes to generate.
After 5 minutes, refresh the screen to download the report. Once it is ready, they will click “Download PDF Summary” and the report will automatically download.
Important note: this survey is best fit for families of young children (ages 3-5). Only users with administrator accounts will have access to the survey tool.
