How Do I Obtain the CDA Competency Standards Books?

 

When preparing to earn a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential, it is important to purchase the Competency Standards book that matches the age group and setting in which you work.  Be sure to review the requirements listed on the Council for Professional Recognition website to determine which materials are needed for your credential pathway.

  • Green book cover = Preschool Edition (for educators working with children ages 3–5 in a center-based setting)

  • Yellow book cover = Infant-Toddler Edition (for educators working with children from birth to 36 months in a center-based setting)

  • Magenta book cover = Birth to Five Edition (for educators working with children ages birth to 5 years in a center-based setting)

  • Blue book cover = Family Child Care Edition (for educators working with children ages birth to 5 years in a family child care home setting)
