What is the Character Count on the CQIP?

Update per Trevor Darnell on 7/7/25: We've updated two of the four action plan fields in the CQIP tool. Now, the "action steps" and "timeline" fields have 5000 character limits, and the "resources needed" and "Additional comments" fields both remain at 2000 character limits.

Here is the reply (per Trevor Darnell) if you receive this question:

Could you please extend the character count on the CQIP's? I have 2000 characters available, but we are required to place so much information within the CQIP, that I will need additional characters.

“At this time, we have no plans to increase the character limit because it is meant to be a smaller amount of text by program design. We want to encourage shorter CQI cycles with more targeted goal-setting (fewer goals per CQIP and, thus, shorter action plans per CQIP). You are not required to include so much information unless this is a LWDB-imposed requirement. I hope this helps.”
