FAQ: Who determines which measures are required & optional for PK & KG?
FAQ: Who determines which measures are required & optional for PK & KG?
Answer
We work very closely with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) regarding all assessments. While we provide TEA with information and recommendations that we believe best suit the students best suit the students of Texas, TEA has the final decision. They consider factors such as alignment with other available instruments (e.g., DIBELS) and how the results link to other measures over time. For instance, the CPM PK includes the Rapid Letter Naming task, which correlates strongly with the Letter Name and Letter Sounds subtest in TX KEA.
