Certification Impacts

STAR LEVEL DROP – PHONE SCRIPT 

Good morning/afternoon,   

This is ____________________, Texas Rising Star Assessor with CLI Engage, the Centralized Assessment Entity. I am calling regarding the Texas Rising Star certification quarterly screening requirement. As you may be aware, Texas Rising Star–certified programs are expected to maintain a consistent and high level of compliance with child care regulations.  

Every quarter, Assessors conduct the screening process, reviewing the most recent 12-months of history with child care regulations; the results of the screening can affect your certification.  

After reviewing your program’s history, we have discovered that the following cited deficiencies will impact your Texas Rising Star certification:

I regret having to inform you that your program’s certification will be reduced to a ________________ (inform ELP of the new star level – refer to the screening form completed at the time of the screening). The star level drop will be in place during a six-month period.  

At the end of the six-month period, an Assessor will review your program’s history with childcare regulations to determine if the impact could be lifted and the former star level of certification be reinstated.  

Your program’s assigned team of Mentors will be informed of this impact, as mentor staff may be able to provide mentoring, training, and resources to assist with compliance.

I will email you as a follow up to our conversation and include the Texas Rising Star impact notice form; this form requires your signature. It also includes the criteria information to be eligible to be lifted from the star level drop impact.  

Please review the information included in the email, sign and return the impact form to me at ________________________ (include the Assessor’s Workforce email address – Until we get our WFS email address, please use the Texas Rising Star email address), within three business days.
