Is it possible to view TX-KEA scores for receptive and expressive separately instead of combining them?

Answer

For the Texas Kindergarten Entry Assessment, CLI classroom data reports are organized by measure, rather than by response type. This is because the benchmarks are validated based on the overall combined score. TX-KEA reports do not separate different types of responses, such as receptive versus expressive. However, you can view the raw scores by viewing the student results export. This report will show individual scores for each student for each task within a measure, or indicate if they are on track, need support, or should be monitored.

Download the TX-KEA User Guide for more information about TX-KEA and its administration in kindergarten classrooms.

The user guide charts located on pages 5, 14 & 15 can help to easily see which measures are receptive vs. expressive and can be useful when considering ability groupung and small group instruction.
