When I give TX-KEA, can I translate the instructions from English to Spanish, but still assess a student's English skills? Or translate instructions from Spanish to English, but still assess a student's Spanish skills?

The Texas Kindergarten Entry Assessment was designed to be administered in English or Spanish. Each assessment should be delivered with the corresponding language prompted on the assessment. We advise to not translate the prompts or instructions to students. This is because attempting to translate the assessment prompts may invalidate the data collected, and compromise the fidelity of the tool. We recommend using the tool as designed and administer it in English or Spanish, since it is not a bilingual tool.
